This work aims to express the beauty of nature and the intricate details hidden within it through a textile design inspired by fruits. Fruits are common elements in our daily lives, yet the inner cross-sections and textures often go unnoticed. I have sought to deeply observe the internal structure, color, and texture of fruits, drawing inspiration from them to unfold my design.
The cross-section of a fruit holds more significance than just being a part of something edible. It is, in a way, a miniature universe that reveals the creative processes of nature, along with the hidden order and balance within. Each fruit carries its own unique pattern and texture, which I have carefully observed and transformed into textiles, translating the fine details into textures for design.
For example, I sought to express the delicate segmented structure of an orange or the geometric form of a pineapple in various ways. These fruit textures and shapes are then translated into patterns for fabric prints, emphasizing the natural beauty each fruit possesses.
This project began with the intention of bringing the beauty of nature closer into our daily lives and offering a new perspective on things we may easily overlook. Through the cross-sections and textures of fruits, we are invited to appreciate the mysterious inner workings of nature once again.
